History of the hotel and surroundings

Hotel Raffaello is a four-star hotel that is housed in a building typical of Prague in the 19th century. The hotel is located near Wenceslas Square (Václavské náměstí), just 600 meters from the square and at the same time not far from Peace Square (Náměstí míru).

The hotel has a very good connection with the airport, the Congress Center, the exhibition center and the main historical monuments and architectural landmarks are located nearby.

Thanks to its close proximity to the Congress Center (one stop by metro), the hotel is perfect suitable for business trips.

The hotel is equipped with luxurious furniture and has a completely new seating area in the hotel lobby. The interior is furnished with crystal chandeliers, marble floors and comfortable sofas.

All rooms and suites are equipped with Italian cherry furniture, elegant upholstery, curtains and marble bathrooms to make your stay at the hotel as perfect as possible.

Leger Street | Legerova ulice

Legerova Street in Prague is a one-way street connecting Nusel Bridge (Nuselský most) and Wilson Street (Wilsonova ulice). It is named after the French professor and Slavologist Louis Léger (1843–1923), who supported the idea of an independent Czech state. Most of the street is in the Nové Město district, the part from Římská street to Wilsonova is in the Vinohrady district.

Pronunciation | Výslovnost

Although the surname Léger is read in French [leže(r)] and the street name should therefore read [ležerova], due to the low awareness of his eponym, the phonetic pronunciation prevailed in common use (or possibly, under the influence of German, completely incorrectly [légrova]). The correct pronunciation is therefore considered to be the established form [leger’s].
